Jesus Chooses Twelve (Luke 6:12-19)
This Sunday we'll see Jesus make one of the most important decisions of His earthly ministry—choosing the Twelve, because those men would continue His ministry and build the church. But before He calls a single name, He spends the entire night in prayer. What does that teach us about dependence on God, His calling on ordinary people, and the source of true spiritual effectiveness? Join us as we continue our journey through Luke's Gospel and discover how Jesus' example challenges the way we pray, serve, and follow Him.
BETHLEHEM IN JULY
July 18
Last year was rough on our Marketplace set and we need to replace several things like a tent, flooring and transitions. We are going to need about $1,300 extra this year. So, we are taking up a special offering at the end of the worship service this Sunday. Prayerfully determine what God would have you give.
CLASS 100: getting started
July 18, 1:30-3:00p
If you want to know more about Southeast or are interested in becoming a member, this class is for you. You will learn how we got here, what we believe and what we expect for our members. We will be meeting in the Conference Room, so please enter through the office door.
TERRY ROBBINS’ SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY
July 18, 2-4p
Because of some health issues, Terry didn’t get to celebrate his 80th birthday last year, so his family is throwing him a surprise birthday party this year. It’s a come and go event to just let Terry know he is appreciated and loved. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall. And remember, don’t tell him – it’s a surprise! (smile)
BCM OPPORTUNITIES
We have several opportunities to support the ministry at the MTSU BCM. You don’t have to participate in everything, but volunteer for the things you feel led. I know this is a lot, so talk to me if you have questions.

- Work Project (Friday, August 14 & Saturday, August 15): We are going to help take out some old carpet and replace it with carpet squares. We will get started on Friday at 9a and work until about 4p. Lunch will be provided. We’ll start back on Saturday at 9a and go until we are finished. Again, lunch will be provided. Bring knives to cut the carpet into manageable pieces and work gloves. Bring shop vacs help with cleanup. And if anyone would like to provide lunch, please let me know. Please sign up at the Welcome Center.
- Pancake Dinner (Friday, August 21): This is phase one of Welcome Week. They will feed about 500 students. You can volunteer for several places of service from set up to making batter to cooking to serving to trash pickup to clean up. See the sign-up list at the Welcome Center for positions and to sign up.
- Worship Night and Church Fair (Saturday, August 22): I am going to set up a table and hand out information about the church hopefully along with some goodies. If you can help and if you can provide some goodies (and I’m talking about cookies in a little bag), please talk to me.
- Worship and Cookout (Thursday, August 27): They will be having a worship service with a hamburger/hotdog dinner to follow. Again, a lot of ways to serve. Please see the sign-up list at the Welcome Center for areas of service and to sign up.
