SUNDAY WORSHIP

The Spirit of the Disciple (Luke 6:37-42)
Being a disciple of Jesus is more than simply imitating His outward actions—it means allowing His Spirit to shape who we are from the inside out. Jesus calls His followers to have a generous spirit, while developing spiritual vision through God’s Word. True discipleship begins in the heart. When our spirit is aligned with the Holy Spirit, our thoughts, attitudes, and actions begin to reflect Jesus.
MTSU BCM WORK PROJECT
Friday (Aug 14) & Saturday (Aug 15)
We are going to help take out some old carpet and replace it with carpet squares. We will get started on Friday at 9a and work until about 4p. Lunch will be provided. If you can’t stay for the whole day, any time and help is appreciated. I will send out an email Friday night with an update and the schedule for Saturday.

MEMBERS LUNCHEON AND MEETING

This is our quarterly meeting. Fried chicken and drinks will be provided, bring sides and desserts to share. After lunch, we’ll have a quick Business Meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend – members are expected to attend.
CLASS 200—DEVELOPING H.A.B.I.T.S.
August 30, 1p
This class helps you take your walk with Jesus to the next level. It is for everyone as we are always working to become more like Christ. The class will last for about two hours and is limited in size, so please sign up at the Welcome Center.
DAYCARE MUM SALE
The Daycare has partnered with Evans Plant Farm for a fall fundraiser. Through the Daycare, Evan’s is offering twelve (12) inch plants for $20 each. You have the option of picking up random assorted colored mums at church or a certificate to redeem at Evan’s Plant Farm if you want to select specific colors. See Ms. Debbie in the foyer to order. Payment is due at the time of the order and can be cash or check made out to SEBP. Deadline for orders is September 10.

- Pancake Dinner (Friday, August 21): This is phase one of Welcome Week. They will feed about 500 students. You can volunteer for several places of service from set up to making batter to cooking to serving to trash pickup to clean up. See the sign-up list at the Welcome Center for positions and to sign up.
- Worship Night and Church Fair (Saturday, August 22): I am going to set up a table and hand out information about the church along with some goodies. We need about 125 Ziplock baggies with a few cookies or brownies in them. Please sign up at the Welcome Center.
- Worship and Cookout (Thursday, August 27): They will be having a worship service with a hamburger/hotdog dinner to follow. Please sign-up list at the Welcome Center.
