Jesus Heals

This story may seem like it’s just a story about a sick man getting healed, it is so much more. It teaches us that God does not come to the self-sufficient, those who think they have no need or imagine they can make it on their own. He comes to the empty in spirit, those who mourn their condition. If you would come to Christ, this is the way you must come—saying, “Unclean!” Christ’s healing touch doesn’t come in response to a casual, irreverent acknowledgment. It comes as we bow before Him in the realization that He is our only hope.
